The Brand New Theatre Co. is dedicated to training actors, developing playwrights and producing brand new theatre. BNTC’s Artistic Director:
Kara Saunders is an actor trainer and theatre director with a background in facilitating the development of new and improvised work with actors, writers and directors. In addition to her interest in creating new work, she also specializes in helping actors at every level of experience to develop and maintain essential acting skills.
Kara has worked in theatre for over 20 years. She worked in American theatre (as an actress, director and teacher) before moving to London. She attended one of the UK’s top drama schools (University of London: Royal Central School of Speech and Drama) where she earned a distinction for her graduate work in Actor Training and Coaching.
Kara’s primary training/research areas at the University of London were “life-long approaches to actor training” and “the structure and impact of deep practice on the work of the professional actor.” BNTC’s training program is based on this research as well as Kara’s practical development of these ideas while working with professional and student actors in London.
